FEMLY(Bone of Family)Empowering Women
Women empowerment in 21st century is not about providing equal rights to women as 20th century has already done that. Women empowerment in our time is to protect and guarantee their rights. Not just voting or right to free speech but the right to make choices about themselves. The job of our lawmakers in this modern era is to provide and treat women with equality, not with superiority just with equality. To ensure that women and their rights are treated with respect it’s high time for women to take power in their hands, to run for political offices and win. This can only happen if there is a channelized route for the empowerment of women. Women empowerment plays a vital role to gear up the pace of development of a well-cultured and just society. As most of the women in our unjust societies have not been provided fundamental rights, special program to empower them seem to be key measures. It is said that men and women are like two wheels of a car; this cannot be ignored as it exists in the core of reality. Unless women are as able as men, the existing discriminatory laws and disparity hinder women rights.
21st century women are the smarts women or smart moms. They are multi-tasker, they manage each and every work, we have seen women excel in each and every field. From a homemaker to an entrepreneur. We have also started a small venture name called FEMLY to empower women from the great diversity of India we are starting from Rajasthan which is famous for its handicraft items. Its a platform for rural women to showcase their talent. Rajasthan has been a great hub of art and craft, this is one of the reason it attracts tourists. The tourist gets an opportunity to buy arts and crafts which are handicraft items, hand crafted by the women of Rajasthan. But those women does not get the good exposure to expand their business their business is only showcased in the local market of cities of Rajasthan, we are here to showcase their work at large scale so that they get a good exposure. Our motto is to provide a platform for women’s who are under the barriers of orthodox society, and these barriers not only prevent women exposure to the world but also their talent. Femly removes the barriers of the orthodox society and showcase the talent globally. Here are some of the works done by the women.
*Lac Bangles*
Bangles made of lacquer, a type of varnish from wood, are strikingly
beautiful with bold colors and artistic designs. These hand-made bangles
are generally worn at the time of festivities, or special occasions. The
bangles have colorful beads, stones or mirror work to look more beautiful.
Making these bangles originated in Jaipur, and is still a very fashionable
jewelry item for girls.
*Jootis*
They are an essential part of our traditional dresses worn at the time of
festive seasons, marriage ceremonies and special occasions. The jootis or
mojadis are made by the women in Jaipur and embellished with stones and
embroidery. They are colorful and hand-made by artisans.
*Potli*
Potli bags have existed in India since time of immemorial. Potli bags have
essentially made out of a rich cloth, preferably satin, velvet or silk.
These attractive bags have traversed centuries and are now proclaimed a
fashion accessory for everyone, age or gender alike. The cloth is them
embellished and affixed with a drawstring for opening and closing the bag.
Earlier, these potli bags had a simple look. Now, with the rising
popularity of these traditional bags, they are adorned with Banaras or
Kutch work, pearls, mirrors, beads, sequins, stones along with tassel affixed on the drawstrings.
